Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 1 October 2026

These terms govern your use of the Data Shield L.L.C ("Data Shield", "we", "us") website and client portal (together, the "Portal"). By requesting access to or using the Portal, you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and the organisation you represent. If you do not agree, please do not use the Portal.

1. The Portal and our services

The Portal lets our clients request cybersecurity and IT services, open and track support tickets, send us messages, and report security incidents. The Portal is a communication and tracking tool. The scope, price and terms of any service we deliver are set out in a separate quotation, engagement letter or service agreement ("Service Agreement"). If a Service Agreement conflicts with these terms, the Service Agreement prevails.

Access to the Portal is free of charge. Using the Portal does not oblige you to buy any service. Services are charged only as agreed with you in a quotation or Service Agreement, or, for emergency incident response, as described in section 5.

2. Accounts

  • Access is by request. We review each request and may approve or decline it at our discretion.
  • You must give accurate information and be authorised to act for the organisation you name.
  • Keep your password confidential and use one you don't use elsewhere. You are responsible for activity under your account; tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use.
  • We may suspend or close an account to protect the Portal, our clients or ourselves, including for misuse or a breach of these terms.

3. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • attempt to access data or accounts that are not yours, or probe, scan or test the Portal's security without our written permission;
  • upload malware or content that is unlawful, harmful or infringes others' rights;
  • overload, disrupt or reverse-engineer the Portal, or use automated tools to access it;
  • submit false incident reports or misuse the emergency service.

4. Service requests and support tickets

Submitting a service request or ticket asks us to contact you; it does not by itself create a paid engagement. We will confirm scope, timeline and pricing with you before any chargeable work begins, unless your Service Agreement says otherwise. Response times shown in the Portal are targets for planning purposes; binding service levels are only those stated in your Service Agreement.

5. Emergency incident response

  • The emergency incident service is a priority, chargeable service for active or imminent security threats.
  • Fees depend on incident complexity, scope, duration and the expertise required.
  • By submitting an emergency incident report you request emergency response services and agree to be contacted immediately. A formal engagement agreement and cost estimate are provided after the initial assessment.
  • Follow the instructions of our responders and give them timely, accurate information and the access they need. Delays or incomplete information can affect the outcome.

6. Your information and confidentiality

You keep ownership of the information you submit. You give us permission to use it to provide and improve our services and to operate the Portal. We treat information about your systems and security incidents as confidential and use it only for those purposes, subject to any legal obligations. Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual property

The Portal, its design, content and the Data Shield name and logo belong to Data Shield or its licensors. You may use the Portal only for its intended purpose and may not copy or reuse its content without our permission.

8. Availability

We work to keep the Portal available and secure, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may carry out maintenance or make changes. If the Portal is unavailable during an emergency, call our 24/7 hotline on +971 54 717 7033.

9. Liability

No security measure can guarantee that every threat will be prevented or every incident fully contained. To the extent permitted by law, the Portal is provided "as is", and Data Shield is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue or data, arising from use of the Portal. Our liability for services is governed by the relevant Service Agreement. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

10. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the Portal after a change means you accept the updated terms; we will notify portal users of significant changes.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of the United Arab Emirates.
