Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 October 2026
Data Shield L.L.C ("Data Shield", "we", "us") provides cybersecurity and IT services in the United Arab Emirates. This policy explains what personal data we collect through our website and client portal, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the rights you have. We process personal data in line with the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (PDPL) and other applicable laws.
1. Who is responsible for your data
Data Shield L.L.C is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us about privacy at info@datashieldae.com or on +971 54 717 7033.
2. Data we collect
- Account details — your name, work email address, company name, phone number and password (stored only as a secure one-way hash).
- Service information — the content of support tickets, service requests, incident reports and messages you send us, including descriptions of your systems and any security events.
- Account activity — when you sign in, the status of your requests, and notes our engineers add.
- Technical data — your IP address and basic request information, used for security, abuse prevention and troubleshooting.
Please do not include passwords, payment card numbers or other sensitive credentials in tickets or messages.
3. How we use your data
- To verify and manage your portal account and confirm you are an authorised representative of your organisation.
- To deliver the services you request, respond to tickets, and handle security incidents, including contacting you urgently by phone or email.
- To send service emails such as account approval, ticket and incident updates, and password-reset links.
- To prepare quotations, engagement agreements and invoices.
- To keep the portal secure, detect misuse, and meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
We process your data because it is necessary to provide our services to you or your organisation, to comply with the law, for our legitimate interest in operating a secure service, or with your consent where the law requires it. We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
4. Cookies
The portal uses one essential cookie, auth_token, to keep you signed in securely. It cannot be read by scripts on the page and is removed when you sign out or after seven days. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
5. Who we share data with
We share personal data only where needed to run our services:
- Service providers that host our portal, store our database and send our emails, under contracts that require them to protect your data and use it only on our instructions.
- Authorities where we are legally required to, or where necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of you, us or others.
Some of these providers may store data outside the UAE. Where that happens, we take the safeguards required by the PDPL to ensure your data remains adequately protected.
6. How long we keep data
We keep account and service records for as long as your organisation is a client and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, accounting and contractual obligations. Access requests that are declined are deleted within a reasonable period. You can ask us to delete your data sooner where the law allows.
7. How we protect data
As a security company we apply the controls we recommend to our clients: encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, strict access control so clients only see their own records, immediate revocation of access for disabled accounts, rate limiting, and security monitoring. No system is completely secure, but we work continuously to protect your information.
8. Your rights
Subject to the PDPL, you may ask us to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete data (you can update most details yourself under My account);
- delete your data, or restrict or object to certain processing;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
Email info@datashieldae.com to make a request. We may need to verify your identity first. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the UAE Data Office.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date shows when it last changed, and we will notify portal users of significant changes.
